Tourism bureaus of 12 Chinese provinces and autonomous regions along the Silk Road as well as the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps established a tourism promotion alliance on June 16.
Shanxi in North China is one of the alliance's members. By promoting the integrated development and joint marketing of tourism products in the Silk Road's Chinese sections, the alliance will work for Silk Road Tourism brand through sharing resources and responsibilities.
The other members of the alliance include Gansu, Ningxia, Shandong and Guangxi.
