On Dec 22, China's 16th peacekeeping medical contingent, with most of its members from the 264th Hospital of the PLA in Shanxi province, finished their 21-day quarantine on Dec 22 after working 335 days in Liberia to fight the Ebola epidemic.

By 2:20 pm, many of their relatives and colleagues gathered outside the office building of the PLA's 264th Hospital to greet them, with a banner reading welcome back. Most of the group of medical workers are doctors and nurses working at the hospital.

The bus arrived at around 2:30 pm and the waiting crowd walked to greet the medical workers as they got off. They turned their worries and concerns into greetings like "It is great that you are back", "I miss you so much" and "We are happy that you are back."

Liberia is one of the Ebola-stricken countries. Without experience in containing the virus, testing methods, effective drugs and enough protective suits, 43 Chinese medical workers received 2,100 patients, took in 42 critically ill ones and saved 38 of them in eight months. They also organized 26 lectures on Ebola prevention and control and visited the troops to offer help.
