Shanxi recently began to collect applications for traditional handicraft innovation studio construction. The province will help build 20 studios, each of which will receive 50,000 yuan ($8,066) in funding. The move aims to nurture and support highly-skilled personnel who can inherit traditional handicraft technology and processes, and form an arts and crafts skills inheritance and promotion network across the province.
