The Wutai Mountain International Buddhism Cultural Expo held a press conference in Taiyuan, the capital of Shanxi province, on May 12, to announce the opening date of the expo, May 26, with a theme of "Enlighten the wisdom, spread the Buddhist spirit around the world, bless China, and bring safety to everyone".

Wutai is the topmost of China's four Buddhist mountains with more than 360 temples, the largest group in the world, a place where visitors can feel the history of Chinese Buddhism.

The expo runs for 10 days and is held together with the Wutai Mountain International Tourism Month, which promotes cultural exchanges, tourism industry development, and the Wutai tourism brand. The organizers have worked hard to harmonize nature, the sights, and the exhibition as a display of Buddhism in China.

There will be more than 600 companies dealing in Buddhist services and products taking part, with some ceremonies performed, and a Buddhist Cultural Photography Expo and Buddhist Cultural Painting and Calligraphy Exhibit.
