The main part of a large open theater, Meet Mount Wutai, is expected to be completed by Dec 19, at a cost of around 496 million yuan and the rest of the project, by April of next year. A trial performance will be held next May.
The theater is located at Mount Wutai's new travel service area, next to the visitors center to the west and Donghui International Hotel to the south. It covers a 13.3-hectare area and can hold 1,700 people at a time.
