The parade to celebrate Guan Yu and promote cross-Straits culture, which began on March 30, in Taiwan, has come to the end, with the closing ceremony taking place on April 17, at the Minglun Sansheng Palace, Taoyuan county, Taiwan.

The statue of Guan Yu that was used for the parade is from Haizhou, Yuncheng, Shanxi province, its home, and ran for 21 days. It passed through more than 10 counties on Taiwan and took part in more than 100 temple ceremonies.

Arts groups from Shanxi gave performances on Taiwan to give a taste of Shanxi’s local culture and the Guan Gong culture and there were many other cultural activities held during the parade. The Guan Yu statue will return to Shanxi, on April 18, together with other cultural artifacts.
