World-class start-up event arrives in Lujiazui

The 2016 Global Entrepreneurship Week China kicked off at the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum in Lujiazui, Pudong New Area, on Nov 14.
Nearly 70 activities will be taking place this week as part of the event, which concludes on Oct 20. This will include exhibitions, summits, forums, pitch competitions, start-up leadership training programs, and many others.
With the theme of "pooling global wisdom, boosting entrepreneurship", the week-long event has invited entrepreneurship experts and experienced investors from China and abroad to give keynote speeches.
An exhibition area for start-up companies has been set up to help them showcase their projects and attract investors.
Foreign start-ups that want to develop in China are also participating in the event, and activities such as the Sino-US Innovation and Entrepreneurship Forum and XNode Pitching Competition will be held. Representatives from foreign venture capital firms and incubators have also been invited.
Emerging industries related to "smart future", including augmented reality, virtual reality, artificial intelligence, Industry 4.0 and smart earth will also be highlights of the event. There will be an AR/VR exhibition area, a forum on the future of artificial intelligence, and more.
The Global Entrepreneurship Week is world's largest and most influential start-up event, which was co-created by the UK, US and China in 2008. So far, it has covered nearly 160 countries and reached more than 10 million young entrepreneurs across the world.
