When the Global Chinese Financial Forum Shanghai Conference opened in Shanghai's Pudong New District, on June 23, to discuss global investment in China's bio-medicine market, the experts on hand said that many venture capitalists who see China as the world's second largest bio-medicine market and its high returns are investing in its life sciences sector.

They said that many international life sciences companies have expanded their presence here or have sought cooperation, with Zhang Shuihua, head of project development for the Genzon Pharmaceuticals Group, noting that China's bio-medicine industry, especially biologicals and Chinese medicines, have bright prospects.

Many investors from the United States, Canada and other countries took part in the conference, including Han Lu, a manager at Canada's Lumira Capital Investment Management, who says that their interest in China's medical investment market is in creative technology.

This forum has been bringing together global investment opportunities and growing Chinese capital markets since 2007, and, this year's in Shanghai, was aimed at bringing together life sciences companies and China's rapidly expanding healthcare market.
