The soon-to-open Shanghai Disney Resort has unveiled its menu for visitors, revealing distinctly Chinese characteristics.
"Given that most visitors will be Chinese, the food at Shanghai Disneyland is mainly Chinese food," said Chen Deli, chief of the food department at the resort.
Local food will account for 70 percent of the menu, which will also consist of 20 percent Asian food and 10 percent western.
According to Chen, all eight of China's cuisines will be represented on the menu combined with classic Disney elements, such as Mickey Chocolate Tart, Micky Pork Cake, Donald Duck Waffle and Braised Pork Knuckle in Dark Soy sauce.
Food will be available to visitors in canteens and restaurants of different styles among the six themed parks at the resort. Particular attention has been paid to food safety with all fruit and vegetables sterilized before being prepared.
What's more, the safety of food has a guarantee, both in supply and processing. For example, vegetables are sterilized by machines instead of manual work.
Located in Pudong district, Shanghai Disneyland will open on June 16, 2016. Tickets have been on sale since March 28.
