The Lujiazui finance area of Shanghai's Pudong New District is sponsoring a foot race, on Nov 29, with the purpose of raising money to help children suffering from leukemia.

There will be a 5-kilometer and a 10-km run along the Huangpu River, so that the participants can enjoy the landscape of Binjiang Park, and buildings like the Oriental Pearl Tower, the Shanghai Tower, and the famous architecture of the Bund.

Authorities say that the fee for the activity is 150 yuan ($23) for adults, and 100 yuan for young people 8 - 16 years of age, with all the income to be given to Fudan University-affiliated Pediatric Hospital to treat children with leukemia.

In addition to its charitable side, the activity is also expected to get local workers away from the desk or work pressure by enjoying the fun of sports.
