The Lujiazui financial area of Shanghai's Pudong New District will be starting a 2-week outdoor art festival, on Oct 16, with a theme of "Art, City, Charity", to provide the 200,000 people who work and live in Lujiazui with an opportunity to enjoy public art as well as different culture and leisure activities.

This is considered the highlight of this year's Lujiazui Financial Culture Festival and will include many activities such as art exhibitions, music, poetry readings, and parent-child programs. It will also bring in some famous artists from Canada, Portugal, Japan and other countries for excellent outdoor art performances.

The organizers also say there will be a site where Chinese and overseas artists can exchange ideas. Lujiazui will also use China's China-Canada People-to-People and Cultural Exchange Year (2015-16) to develop a partnership with Canada's Quebec Art Festival by inviting that city's jazz masters and artists to perform in Shanghai.
