A delegation from the Italy-China Friendship Association, headed by its president, Irene Pivetti, visited the international automobile city in Jiading Dec 14.

The visit was a reflection of Jiading's transformation and upgrading, which has grown into a magnet for overseas enterprises involved in cutting-edge and innovative technologies and concepts to embrace local development more deeply.

Pan Xiaohong, general manager of the automobile city, explained to the Italian visitors the area's industrial layout, business environment and progress in city-industry integration.

She said Italy's high-end design concepts and innovative ways of thinking can blend well with Jiading's modernization drive. She suggested the two sides work on an equal footing with mutual benefit, share resources, build convenient channels, and bring more Italian vitality into Jiading's automobile market.

Pivetti agreed with Pan's cultural and technological proposals and said she hoped more Italian high-tech companies will visit China, get to know the country, seek cooperation possibilities, and energize the two economies.

2020 marks the 50th anniversary of China and Italy establishing diplomatic ties. The visit shed light on the two countries sharing easier communications and engaging productive cooperation.
