Jiading awards outstanding scientific personnel and projects

A total of 21 individuals and 46 projects received awards on Nov 30 for their outstanding contributions to the scientific progress and development of Jiading district, Shanghai.

Individual winners included Shao Jianda, Party secretary of Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics of China Academy of Sciences, and Li Xiao Jun, general manager of Shanghai FEIBO Laser Technologies.

The winning projects included IP protocol-based LEO space router and content delivery network-based HTTPS deployment methods and system.

Zhang Xi, Party secretary of Jiading, said that the district will attach greater importance to scientific innovation, and will take more efforts to attract talents and create a better environment for talent growth.

During the conference, a report on talent shortage in Jiading’s automobile sector was released, setting a direction for the district’s talent attraction efforts. A WeChat-based talent service platform was also launched to better serve talented personnel.

The district also brought together public and social forces to improve its talent attraction capacity.

By the end of this October, Jiading has had more than 370,000 talented personnel. Also more than 12,000 high-profile professionals are coming to work in Jiading every year, ranking top in Shanghai.
