Jiading government officials met with leaders of the Shanghai University of Engineering Science (SUEC) on March 8 to exchange ideas about mutual cooperation, local media reported.
Ma Chunlei, Party chief of the district said that Jiading has a solid industrial foundation and great development potential. It features the auto industry, with over 100 auto research institutes located in the district including the research centers of some auto giants SAIC Motor and Volvo. It also has over 15,000 auto engineers.

To promote the further development of its industry, the district needs to keep attracting top minds and pursuing innovation. So, Ma added that he expected the both sides will work together on talent training, industrial innovation and entrepreneurship, which could be win-win for both.
Gao Yun, head of the district, briefed the university leaders about Jiading's economic development and industrial structure. Gao expressed intention to cooperate with the university in student internships and scientific innovation.

Li Jiang, Party secretary of SUEC suggested the two parties to strike a deal in joint research on technology, city management and industrial tourism. The university also wanted to build a national university research park in the district.
