Business incubator to boost innovative development

To help the Jiading district of Shanghai, to reach its goal of becoming a scientific and technological innovation center, the district's Huating town recently announced the opening of a business incubator at an inauguration ceremony on Nov 24, local media reported.

According to local authorities, with a total floor area of 90,000 square meters, the incubator consists of three industrial parks, which are designed to house top e-commerce and IT companies. So far, it has brought in nine high-tech companies.

In addition to the business incubator, the town also planned to launch a science innovation center based on its cooperation with the Shanghai Jiebao Economic Development Co. The Shanghai company will be in charge of the operation of the center.

And the center, with a planned area of 50 mu (3.3 hectares) is slated to start construction by the end of this year. It aims to become a platform for youth entrepreneurship and Internet companies. So far, a total of 20 enterprises have expressed their intentions to move into the center.

Local authorities went on to say that they will roll out more supportive measures in talents, funds, technology and information to help young people start up their businesses in the town.
