District's director meets outstanding foreign residents

Ma Chunlei, director of Jiading district, Shanghai, met with Majdi Abulaban, president of Delphi Asia Pacific and Delphi China, and Klaus Hartig, chairman of Fuchs Lubricants (China), on Nov 26. They are the winners of the 2014 Shanghai Honorary Citizens award and the 2014 Shanghai Magnolia Gold Awards, respectively.

Ma made an introduction on the social and economic development of Jiading and appreciated the winners' contributions to the district. Ma also spoke highly of the support of Delphi and Fuchs in the district's development and said that Jiading welcomes friendly people all over the world.

Both foreigners said they are happy living in the district and will continue to bring Jiading more advanced technologies and make contributions to local development.

The "Shanghai Honorary Citizens" recognition is the highest prize awarded to foreigners in the city. Since the prize was first granted in 1997, there has been one winner from Jiading. The Magnolia Awards were launched in 1993. Seven and 19 people have won the gold and silver awards, respectively.
