Jiading achieves stable and rapid economic growth

Jiading has maintained a stable and rapid economic growth in the first half year, according to jiading.gov.cn, the district's official website.

In the first half year, the city's GDP reached 62.39 billion yuan ($10.26 billion), increasing by 11.7 percent year on year, above the average level among all districts in Shanghai. The primary, secondary and tertiary industries contributed 5.18 billion yuan ($844.3 million), 38.32 billion yuan ($6.25 billion), and 18.89 billion yuan ($3.08 billion) respectively to Jiading's GDP.

The added value of industrial companies in the district with an annual income of more than 20 million yuan increased 14.7 percent to 23.71 billion yuan ($3.86 billion). Eight industrial parks in the area achieved an output value of 41.62 billion yuan ($6.78 billion), marking an increase of 29.6 percent.

The total output value of agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, and fishery reached 8.94 billion yuan ($1.46 billion), an increase of 4.5 percent. The agricultural product processing industry and the flowers and plants nursery stock industry also maintained their momentum.

The tertiary industry in the district - including tourism, real estate and transportation - also saw considerable growth. The fixed asset investment surged by 27.8 percent, 2.5 percent faster than the provincial average level. The value of foreign trade exports was $1.24 billion, an increase of 36 percent. Investment and exports of the district also increased rapidly, and social consumption started to rebound slowly.

The investment in urban construction was 9.93 billion yuan ($1.62 billion), fulfilling 85.9 percent of the whole year's target amount. Jiading achieved stable and rapid economic development, and the growth rates of many major economic indicators were higher than the Shanghai average level.
