The 12th International Terroir Wine Expo 2019 is held in Yantai, a coastal city in East China's Shandong province from June 28 to 30.

Themed around "Open, Integration and Share", the expo attracted more than 500 wine enterprises from 58 wine producing areas in 22 countries.

The expo launched a 30,000-square-meter exhibition with separate areas for French, Italian, and Spanish, Australian, Chilean and Chinese producers.

More than 30 wine promotional activities, including wine tasting, high-end forums, and product release conferences are held during the expo, with several leading companies to attend such as Changyu Group, Junding Chateau and Great Wall.

Founded in 2007, the expo is set to provide a platform for wine exhibitors from home and abroad to exchange ideas on the wine industry and seek cooperation opportunities.

As the largest wine production base in China, Yantai boasts a grape planting area of 18,666 hectares and 162 wine producing companies with output of 32.61 million tons.

In 2018, the amount of wine produced in the city represented 40 percent of the total national wine output.
