The 11th Sino-American Technology and Engineering Conference opened in the city of Shenyang, Liaoning province, on May 16, with Zhang Jianguo of the State Administration of Foreign Expert Affairs on hand to address the gathering and to thank the foreign experts present for joining the conference.

Zhang said that this conference, which also dealt with intelligent manufacturing and robotics, offered many opportunities for China and the US to cooperate and learn from each other in intelligent manufacturing and robotics. The two expect to discuss the development of intelligent robots at the conference and help get Chinese robots into the international market.

Gang Rui, Liaoning’s vice governor, explained the development of the robotics industry in the province and its importance in promoting reforms in heavy industry and added that the government will promote cooperation with American research institutes and enterprises and attract more foreign talents to Liaoning.

Taking part in the opening ceremony were experts from China and the US, who spoke on intelligent manufacturing and robots, along with more than 200 other people.
