Yin Chengji presents Chinese Government Friendship Award to Canadian expert

Yin Chengji, deputy administrator of the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs, presented a Chinese Government Friendship Award to Canadian expert Kenneth Lockwood on May 17.

Gao Xiang, an official in SAFEA, announced that 50 foreign experts will receive the award for the year 2015. Other officials also attended the ceremony.

Kenneth Lockwood is an expert in geriatrics, the former president of the Canadian Geriatrics Society, and a member of the Academy of Medical Sciences. He is currently working at the Geriatrics Center in Dalhousie University, and is in charge of a cooperation project between China and Canada.

Lockwood has made great achievements in geriatrics. He helped set up a professional doctor training system in China with his rich experience in geriatrics, and provided free training for doctors in several hospitals in Beijing.

SAFEA is responsible for certifying foreign experts to work in the Chinese mainland and organizing overseas training for Chinese technical and managerial professionals.
