The Qingdao municipal government signed a strategic agreement with Peking University on July 21, announcing comprehensive cooperation to boost mutual development.

High-level officials from Qingdao government and leaders in Peking University attended the signing ceremony held in the port city.

The cooperation will cover various fields ranging from scientific research, innovative startups, talent cultivation to international exchanges and medical services.

Qingdao party chief Li Qun said that the city is committed to becoming an ideal place for innovation and startups.

Peking University has great experience in cultivating talents, scientific research and knowledge innovation, which can provide a solid foundation for the development of Qingdao, Li said.

Lin Jianhua, president of Peking University praised Qingdao's economic and social development, especially its marine technological capability.

Lin said that Peking University would do its utmost to support the city's development.
