The 26th Qingdao International Beer Festival will open on August 13 at Century Square Beer Town, according to authorities from Laoshan district.

With more than 20 years' of success, the annual festival has become a landmark event of the city, attracting more than four million tourists from home and abroad every year.

This year's festival, themed "culture, leisure, delicate and characteristics" will last for 16 days.

The Century Square Beer Town, together with another two squares will be divided into five areas with different themes, such as a Qingdao beer passion square and a world-famous beer brands square.

The government is setting up a huge tent in the main square, covering an area of 2,000 square meters. Decorated with white, red and blue, the tent will provide an undercover area for visitors, protecting them from the sun and the rain.

There will also be a beer garden as well as an exhibition illustrating the festival's history.
