New energy vehicle project settles in Qingdao West Coast

A new energy project has been unveiled in Qingdao, Shandong province, featuring the leasing and sale of electric vehicles and construction of charging facilities in the West Coast New Area, the Qingdao Daily reported on Jan 14.

The project plans to build 200 charging stations and 3,000 charging terminals in the new area by 2018, according to the agreement between the new area and Qingdao Teld New Energy Co, the contractor and operator of the project.

The project will also include a new energy vehicle experience center, in cooperation with well-known automakers and aimed at exploring sales of new energy vehicles.

In addition, the project will be equipped with 500 new energy buses and offer bus leasing services for government organizations, industrial zones, universities and enterprises in a bid to promote green travel in the new area.
