Qingdao in Shandong province will host the 13th China International Marine Fair (CIFM) and China International Boat Show at the Qingdao Olympic Sailing Center May 22-25.

As the largest boat exhibition in northern China, the fair has attracted more than 100 exhibitors from more than 20 countries and regions, including French Beneteau, American Mercury and Japanese Honda. Chinese boat makers such as GCK and Changhe will also take part in the event.

With the theme of blue economy, the fair will hold a series of activities about the boat industry, high-end tourism and creative design in order to facilitate exchange of know-how, industry knowledge and ideas.

Shandong currently has more than 60 yacht manufacturing companies, accounting for one fifth of the total in the whole country, with half of them being based in Qingdao. The fair organizers hope that the fair can serve as a high-end platform for boat and yacht makers to seek business opportunities and develop local marine economy.
