Qingdao's high-speed train giant shines at Milan Expo

The CRH380A high-speed trains made by CSR Qingdao Sifang Co, received special attention from a large number of visitors at the 2015 Milan Expo on May 2, according to the Xinhua News Agency.

CRH380A series trains are one of the top 10 fastest trains in the world. In December 2010, it set a world record speed of 486.1 km per hour in a test run on the 1,318-km Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway line.

During the course of the Expo, more than 20 companies from US, Brazil, Russia, Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore expressed their interest in doing business with CSR Qingdao Sifang.

The company is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the China South Locomotive and Rolling Stock Industry Corp, one of the country's two major locomotive makers. It mainly engages in R&D and manufacturing of high-speed electric multiple-unit trains.
