Germany's Oldenburg Pavilion opens
There was an opening ceremony for the Oldenburg Pavilion, a German contribution, April 26.

There was an opening ceremony for the Oldenburg Pavilion, a German contribution, April 26, at the 2014 Qingdao International Horticultural Exposition, which began on April 25, with the city of Qingdao's vice-mayor, Luan Xin, and the mayor of Oldenburg, Germany, Gerd Schwandner, on hand to witness.

Both sides had the signing of a letter of intent on friendly, cooperative relations.

Schwandner also presented a new Rhododendron lapponicum that was named after "Qingdao" as a gift to the city. Luan poured champagne on it for good wishes and for friendship and cooperation.

The Oldenburg Pavilion has a wide variety of Rhododendron lapponicum on a 1,247-square-meter site.
