Qingdao's Shibei district invested 5.8 million yuan ($943,950) to improve its community-level medical and health service system and enhance the standardization of community health services, providing 376 pieces of medical equipment for 16 public community health service institutions. A total of 5,767 square meters of community health service institutions have been renovated.

In addition, the Qingdao municipal government continues to provide 11 kinds of 43 basic public health services. New free public health services for maternal and neonatal disease screening, cataract treatment, and dental sealants for children are also being developed.
