The Qingdao municipal people's government is hosting a business inspection activity for global tour operators from Oct 21 to Oct 23, Qingdaonews.com reported on Monday.

The activity held a promotion meeting for the 2014 Qingdao International Horticultural Exposition. More than 120 guests, including tour operators from 18 countries and regions, attended.

After the meeting, the guests visited Qingdao's places of interest, such as the 2014 Qingdao International Horticultural Exposition Park, Mount Lao scenic spot, Mount Xiyu scenic spot, Tsingtao Beer Museum, Badaguan scenic spot and Qingdao Olympic Sailing Center. The activity aimed to present Qingdao's charming tourism resources to overseas visitors. It also served as a part of the 2013 China International Travel Mart, which will be held in Yunnan province from Oct 24-27, attracting attention from global tourists and tour operators.

The event will help Qingdao build a collaboration and trade platform for suppliers and purchasers of outbound tourism products.

Qingdao's tourism revenue has increased 18.5 percent year-on-year, accounting for 11 percent of the city's GDP last year. The city is trying its best to improve global tourism awareness and reputation and build an international tourist destination.
