China wins two gold medals at sailing World Cup

QINGDAO -- China's sailors won gold medals in the RS: X Women and the Laser Radial Women at the ISAF Sailing World Cup here on Saturday.

Chen Peina, 24, scored 36 net points after 12 rounds to win the RS: X Women race. Wu Jiahui, Chen's teammate, took the second place ahead of Maayan Davidovich of Israel.

Zhang Dongshuang of China ranked only 18th at the last round, but she got a 40 net points in 11 rounds to take the title of the Laser Radial Women.

Jo Alen/Polly Powrie from New Zealand were crowned the champions of the 470 wowen, with Chinese sailors Feng Huimin/Huang Lizhu and Fu Qian/Liu Liyun taking the silver and the bronze medals respectively.

Tonci Stipanovic from Croatia won the Laser Men with 23 net points.

Israeli Shahar Zubari and Lucas Damian Calabrese/Juan Maria de la Fuente of Argentina took golds in RS: X Men and 470 Men respectively.

The Qingdao leg of the World Sailing Cup will be followed by the events in Melbourne, Australia; Miami, the United States; Mallorca, Spain; Hyeres, France.
