Qingdao International Sailing Week to kick off in August

The fifth Qingdao International Sailing Week will be held from Aug 17 to 27. This year's Sailing Week consists of three competitions: the Mayor Cup International Sailing Boat Rally, the Qingdao International Sailing Competition, and the Qingdao International OP Sailing Camp and Competition, according to Xinhuanet.com.

Qingdao International Sailing Week this year will collaborate with the International Horticultural Expo. Distinguished sailing guests have been invited to gather and discuss issues covering green ecological civilization and blue ocean culture.

Guests include Antonio González de la Madrid, the events manager of the ISAF Sailing World Cup; Mark Turnbull, the executive director of the Melbourne organizing committee of the ISAF Sailing World Cup; Kjell Borking, former vice-president of the EUROSAF, Joan Anton Camuñas, a delegate from the Barcelona Sailing Foundation; and Zhai Mo, the renowned Chinese sailor. These guests will all join in the discussion.

Guo Chuan, China's first solo non-stop global voyager, will return to his hometown of Qingdao and join the sailing week activities.
