Concert to prelude 10th Chinese Art Festival

Qingdao will hold a concert to greet the coming 10th Chinese Art Festival at Qingdao Poly Grand Theatre on Aug 10-11, according to Qingdaonews.com.

The 10th Chinese Art Festival, a national cultural feast, will open in October in Shandong. Qingdao is a sub-venue of the festival and will host the closing ceremony.

The concert will invite Yu Long, a world-renowned conductor, to lead the concert. Other musicians, including pianist Chen Sa, violinist Sun Na and Chinese singer He Hui will perform with chief artists from four famous Chinese orchestras: the Chinese Philharmonica Orchestra, the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra, the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra and the Qingdao Symphony Orchestra.

Wang Liang, born in Qingdao, who is the chief oboe player in the New York Philharmonica Orchestra, will also perform at the concert.
