Logistics branch company Qingdao Port Group signed a strategic partnership agreement with Xi'an International Trade & Logistics Park (ITL) in Xi'an, capital city of Northwest China’s Shaanxi province, ushering in a new era of cooperation between coastal and inland ports in China.
"The operation of ITL is even more sophisticated after five years of development and construction, enhancing the confidence of Qingdao Port in cooperating with the inland port," said Yang Jixiang, visiting general manager of the logistics company from Qingdao, East China's Shandong province.
Yang visited the railway container center, the bonded zone and the hoisting system, making use of advanced Internet of Things technology at ITL on Monday.
"My visit aims to study the advanced operation ideas of ITL and deepen our cooperation. We want to know more about the source of goods to better serve the owners and increase freight traffic volume," said Yang.
More and more goods from Xi'an and other parts of Shaanxi are being exported via Qingdao Port, according to Li Pingwei, deputy director of the management committee of ITL.
Statistics show that ITL has realized an accumulative trade volume of $834.3 million by June 2013.
