Chengyang district plans to spend 133 million yuan ($21.65 million) for 36 renovation projects in 13 communities, including Meiguiyuan residential block, Qingdaonews.com reported.
"Our community has been here for 16 years. There are many problems that need to be addressed, such as infrastructure aging, road damage, water pipe leakage from erosion and a lack of heating supply," said Qing Liqi, director of the property management company of Chengyang district.
The projects will upgrade water pipes, the heating network, heat preservation in buildings, roads, parking spaces and street landscapes as well as install video surveillance equipment. Currently, 16 projects have started operation and are expected to complete by the end of September.
