The first group of CRH6F intercity shuttle buses with larger capacities and time-saving operations was put into service on July 3. The buses can reach speeds of up to 160 km/h, Bandao.cn reported.

The newly railway buses are part of the second series developed and manufactured via the CINOVA techniques. The first series rolled off the production line at the end of last November.

Ding Sansan, a chief technician of CSR Sifang Co, said that the 160-km/h railway buses will benefit residents that commute within 100 kilometers. The buses are also good for intensive stops.

Besides, the six doors measuring 1.3 meters on each carriage only takes 3 minutes to either close or open for passengers, which reduces the time for stopping and waiting. The buses also conserve energy and reduce emissions, consuming only 80 percent of the energy in metro buses.
