Qingdao starts construction of aquatic products trade center

Qingdao has started construction of the China North (Qingdao) Aquatic Products Trade Center and Cold Chain Logistics Base, Xinhuanet.com reported.

The project is located in the Dongjiakou Economic Zone, with total investment of 10.17 billion yuan ($1.66 billion), and it will become an important international aquatic products trade center in northeast Asia.

The project includes a comprehensive Industrial park that will consist of anchorage grounds, docks, a distribution center, processing base and refrigeration base for aquatic products, a support and supply base for fishing ships, and areas to conduct business meetings and also entertainment venues.

The center is expected to trade 3 million tons of aquatic products with a turnover of 54 billion yuan annually.
