The Shanghai representative offices of about 50 multinational companies - including IBM, Intel, Bayer, Bosch, Mitsubishi and LG - as well as consultancy firms promoting investment in Qingdao, attended the Exchange Conference for Qingdao and Multinational Companies in China in Shanghai on June 18.

The conference, organized by the Qingdao Municipal Government, Qingdao Investment Promotion Bureau and Qingdao Bureau of Commerce, was aimed at increasing exchange and cooperation between Qingdao and the multinational companies, and was also an opportunity to promote international investment in Qingdao.

Zhang Li, deputy head of the Qingdao Bureau of Commerce, spoke at the conference about the development strategy of the city, as well as its planning of its three functional areas and its industrial layout. The representatives from companies such as Mitsubishi, Deloitte, Saint-Gobain and G4S spoke highly of Qingdao’s planning and its investment environment.

Participants also had the opportunity to discuss issues of project cooperation and also investment proposals, establishing a solid foundation for future collaboration.

Intense post-conference work is underway, including a G4S financial outsourcing project and ZF Friedrichshafen AG automobile parts project.
