Port throughput totaled 414,648, 200 tons for the whole year, up 9.2%, with 289,361,000 tons handled for foreign trade, up 8.3%. Container throughput reached 14,500,000 TEUs, up 11.4%.

By the end of the year, there were 95 domestic airlines, 11 international airlines and 3 airlines to/form Hong Kong and Macao. The airport passenger throughput for the whole year reached 12,601,200 person-times, up 7.6% and air cargo and mail throughput was 171,900 tons, up 3.2%.
Postal and telecommunication service business transactions in 2012 totaled RMB 20.868 billion, up 5.7%. Of the total, RMB 0.602 billion was from the postal service, up 14%, and RMB 20.265 billion from the telecommunication service, up 5.5%. The total number of letters handled was 84,980,000, down 8.4%. Internet users numbered 2,182,000 in 2012, up 17.5% and time online reached 198.022 billion minutes, up 16.8%. At the end of the year, fixed-line telephone users numbered 2531,500. Mobile phone users numbered 11,789,500, of which 1,179,200 were new users.
Tourism income for the year totaled RMB 80.758 billion, up 18.5%. Of the total, RMB 75.551 billion was from domestic tourism, up 18.5% and USD 0.825 billion from international tourism, up 19.6%. Tourists to Qingdao during the year totaled 57,175,000 person-time, up 12.6%. Of the total, 55,905,000 were domestic tourists, up 12.8% and 1,270,000 overseas tourists, up 9.8%. By the end of the year, there were 76 A-rated tourist attractions, of which one is 5A-rated and 21 are 4A rated, and 157 star hotels, of which 9 are 5 star-rated and 32 are 4 star-rated.
