Guo Shuqing appointed as Shandong deputy Party chief

Guo Shuqing, former chairman of the China Securities Regulatory Commission, has been appointed deputy Party secretary of Shandong province, the provincial Party committee conference announced on March 19.

"With its long history and rich cultural resources, the coastal province of Shandong leads the nation in economic and social growth. I will try my best to push local general development to a new stage," Guo said at the meeting.

Jiang Daming, governor and former deputy Party secretary of the province, was named head of the Ministry of Land and Resources early this month. The division oversees the recently expanded State Oceanic Administration.
