A tourist service center project in Laoshan Mountain kicked off on March 19. The project has a total investment of 386 million yuan ($62.1 million) and will cover nearly 24 hectares.

The center will complete roof-sealing by the end of this year and will be put into operation before the opening ceremony of the Qingdao International Horticulture Expo in April 2014. The project also includes other facilities such as underground and aboveground parking lots that are capable of accommodating 2,000 vehicles, a reception center, a VIP space and electric entrance guards.
