The environmental protection department of Shandong province recently released a report on the air quality of 17 cities in February. The top three were Yantai, Weihai and Qingdao with 20, 19 and 18 days of "blue skies and starry nights", respectively, Qingdao Daily reported.

The provincial environmental protection department started to use "blue skies and starry nights" as a way to measure air quality in Shandong this year.
