QINGDAO -- Chinese sailor Guo Chuan's yacht lost major power again last week in his solo non-stop sailing around the world, according to his supporting team Monday.

The diesel generator of the yacht totally broke down last Monday and this was the fourth fault of the generators.

With a thorough going-over, Guo found that it was water in the oil gasoline tank that made the generator in malfunction.

"The humidity was in a high level in the south of the Indian Ocean, perhaps some water got into the gasoline tank," Guo said.

Guo changed the oil in the tank and the diesel generator was back online.

There are three power sources on the board, and the diesel generator has broken down for three times and the hydroelectric generator also got problem in January.

Guo said so many problems found in the sailing were due to few tests of the yacht.

"I got the boat only one year ago, and tests of the boat are few. Therefore, many problems were not found and solved before the sailing," Guo said.

Setting off from Qingdao, east China and Guo's hometown, on Nov 18 last year, Guo aims to travel 21,600 nautical miles in about 130 days.
