The city of Shenyang’s Northern Heavy Industries (Group) Co (NHI), one of China’s top-three heavy machinery producers, has signed a cooperation agreement with a company in Turkey on shield machine exports, the latest evidence of NHI’s increasing influence in Turkey, Shenyang Daily reported on Jan 2.
The agreement calls for NHI to export six shield machines to Turkey, which will be used for the construction of the metro project of Istanbul –– linking the urban area of Istanbul with terminal 3 of Ataturk International Airport.
It took only five days for NHI to win the bid, as the representatives of the Turkish company paid a visit to the Shenyang-based shield machine workshop of NHI, and thought highly of NHI’s products.
The deal was NHI’s second project in Turkey, following the cement plant construction project agreed in 2015, achieving an annual cement output of 6,700 tons.
The signing of the shield machine agreement represents the first time NHI will have exported shield machines to Turkey, and lays a solid foundation for NHI to further expand its market share in Turkey and other countries in the region.
