Shenyang has launched a series of new visa policies in an effort to simplify visa application procedures, resulting in greater convenience for foreigners in Shenyang, according to news from Shenyang Municipal Public Security Bureau of Exit and Entry Administration, reported on August 3.
The measures are aimed at foreign employees working in Shenyang. According to the new policy, foreigners will be issued residency permits lasting between two and five years residence. This is a considerable extension compared to the previous rules.
In addition, the family members of foreign employees are also able to enjoy the same visa conditions as them.
Other measures include offering a visa expiry reminder service, setting up three visaapplication centers and a fast-track approval system.
Foreigners whose visas are about to expire will receive a message reminding them to renew their documents. They are also now allowed to apply for a visa extension at the nearest visaapplication center without having to travel to the city’s exit and entry administration bureau.
The service has also become even more convenient, with staff at the application center now able to offer a door-to-door service, saving the applicant from applying in person. There is also a fast-track service available for foreigners who need to travel in an emergency.
Currently, more than 90 Shenyang-based enterprises have taken advantage of the new policies, according to a staff member at Shenyang Municipal Public Security Bureau of Exit and Entry Administration.
