A machine tool producer in the city of Shenyang is turning the traditional operation into a customized, smart model to act as a leader in the manufacturing transformation.

So, if a customer wants to order a product, he or she can just scan the QR code to get into a cloud manufacturing site, then follow instructions on how to type in the requirements and design, all of which may take less than half an hour.

After the order is placed, the customer can track the process through an APP on any phone at any time they like and, in the words of the company's general manager, "This new transformation makes manufacturing easier and smarter and the customized low-volume production is more viable."
