AmCham China President Mark Duval said that Shenyang provided an excellent platform for the chamber to expand its offerings, with nearly 200 US companies already operating in the city. "Shenyang is a rapidly developing city that is very attractive to foreign companies. The investment environment here is very welcoming, and we sincerely appreciate the support of the Liaoning and Shenyang governments in helping us set up this office."
"We are very pleased to host the new AmCham China office, and their decision to locate here reflects the Shenyang's ability to attract some of the world's most influential companies," said Huang Kai, vice mayor of Shenyang. "We look forward to working closely with the chamber and its members in making the cityan even more welcoming place to do business."
AmCham China is a non-government organization supporting a membership of nearly 4,000 individuals working for more than 1,000 companies. The Shenyang office will support the chamber's Northeast China Chapter, which already hosts working groups covering customs and trade, small business and women professionals.
"AmCham China is really a fantastic platform for bringing the foreign business community together, and we're very happy to be able to offer even greater support to our membership in Shenyang," said Rick Howarth, chairman of the AmCham China Northeast China Chapter executive committee. "Since the Northeast China Chapter was launched in Dalian nearly five years ago, the community has benefited greatly from the networking, information sharing and advocacy platform the chamber provides."
