The launch ceremony of the Plug and Play (PNP) China Wuxi Office was launched in Wuxi National High-tech District (WND) on July 19.

PNP is one of the world's largest technology startup accelerators, and the Wuxi office is its first IoT vertical acceleration platform established in the Yangtze River Delta region. The office aims to build Wuxi into a bridge connecting worldwide technological and innovative elements, as well as encourage high-end technological enterprises to settle down in Wuxi.

WND is an economic engine behind Wuxi's opening-up efforts. It is also a center of science innovation and development transformation, forming a cluster of enterprises spanning micro-electronics, new energy, high-end equipment manufacturing and key components, IoT, new materials, as well as biological medicine.

During the launching ceremony, PNP China signed agreements with the first batch of Wuxi companies which entered its accelerator plans.

In June 2018, PNP launched a road show for unicorn cross-border accelerating camps in Wuxi, while in September 2018, it signed a strategic cooperation agreement with WND to build the Wuxi Office of PNP China.

In May 2019, it held a selection event for an IoT unicorn accelerator camp to help the world's top talents and projects settle in Wuxi.

"Established in the Silicon Valley since 1990, PNP has always focused on the investment of technological projects," said Liu Jianuo, director of creative innovation of PNP at the launching ceremony. "Our accelerator will establish cooperative relations with venture capital (VC) institutes, as well as universities to attract more talents to Wuxi, and we hope to cooperate with local government to fund more promising startups."
