New hospital opens in Xinwu district

Xinrui Hospital, also known as the Wuxi Branch of Ruijin Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University Medical College, opened in Wuxi's Xinwu district on March 26.

Located at No 197 Zhixian Road, the newly-built hospital covers an area of 155,500 square meters and has 501 beds. It is composed of 29 clinical departments and has a staff of over 500 medics.

The hospital is also equipped with the Metabolic Management Center and Multi-Disciplinary Treatment, both of which will provide quality, advanced treatments to patients.

Wuxi Mayor Huang Qin expressed his congratulations on the opening of Xinrui Hospital and said that under the national strategy on the integration of the Yangtze River Delta, Wuxi Xinwu district and Ruijin Hospital have joined hands to promote the medical system in Wuxi city.

"Wuxi city will continue to improve a system of tiered medical services, modern hospital management, medical insurance and drug supply security, providing health insurance to residents."

Experts from Shanghai Ruijin Hospital have been invited to give free medical consultations to locals from March 26-30.

The former Wuxi New District, now known as Wuxi Xinwu district or Wuxi National Hi-tech district, was founded in 1992 and underwent administrative changes in 1995, 2002 and 2005.
