Wuxi MEMS Park becomes first provincial smart sensor industry park

China Sensor Network International Innovation Park (Wuxi MEMS Park) was awarded the title of Jiangsu Intelligent Sensor Science and Technology Park, by Jiangsu Economic and Information Technology Commission on Aug 10.

Opened in September 2010, Wuxi MEMS Park has become the first of its kind approved as a provincial intelligent sensor industry park.

The park has been devoted to building the top national-level intelligent sensor network incubator in China. It is also aimed at becoming a special zone for smart industry, integrating software and hardware, data terminals and cloud computing, through extending to other parts of sensor industry chain. In the process it has won numerous national, provincial and municipal honors.

As of June 2016, Wuxi MEMS Park is home to 600 registered companies employing more than 6,000 talents, including eight companies listed on the National Equities Exchange and Quotations (NEEQ), also known as the New Third Board. Total patent applications have reached more than 2,200, with over 1,500 patents granted for inventions. For the first half of the year, sales revenue at Wuxi MEMS Park stood at 3.07 billion yuan ($461.83 million), rate payment reached 105.8 million yuan, with a year-on-year growth of 50 percent.

The former Wuxi New District, now known as Wuxi Xinwu district or Wuxi National Hi-tech district, was founded in 1992 and underwent administrative changes in 1995, 2002 and 2005.
