Rolf Bulander, member of the management board at Bosch, visited the company's automotive powertrain operations in Wuxi National Hi-tech District (WND) on June 23, Wuxi Daily reported.

Wuxi mayor, Wang Quan hosted the visit and shared some of the accomplishments the city has achieved thanks to collaborating with German industrial giant. He hoped the two sides will expand their cooperation in the future to contribute to the city’s intelligent manufacturing industry.

Bulander said that Bosch's development in Wuxi is a milestone for the Group's expansion in China, and that the company will further cooperation with the city, especially on Internet of Things.

A Fortune 500 company, the Stuttgart-based Bosch has built a strong partnership with Wuxi after the establishment of Bosch Automotive Diesel Systems in 2004, which was co-invested with Wuxi WEIFU Group. In 2015, Bosch invested 900 million yuan ($148.5 million) to build Bosch Automotive Systems in WND, to produce automotive powertrains. Bosch Automotive Diesel Systems is the group's largest overseas investment project and the most significant development base the German company has in China.

The former Wuxi New District, now known as Wuxi Xinwu district or Wuxi National Hi-tech district, was founded in 1992 and underwent administrative changes in 1995, 2002 and 2005.
