Foreign companies in Wuxi New District (WND) are focusing on the development of young talents and setting up Guangongwei (a committee responsible for cultivating young talents) in recent years.

As the earliest foreign company with Guangongwei in WND, Bosch Automotive Diesel Systems Co Ltd has more than 3,500 employees, of which 70 percent are young employees under the age of 35. To take advantage of the youth resource, Bosch responded to the call of WND Guangongwei and launched a talent training program.

Since 2005, Bosch has cooperated with local colleges to launch the "Bosch class", which plays an important role in cultivating back-up talents. Till now, Bosch has conducted over 200 training courses and benefited 5,000 young employees, of which 360 had been in Germany for further study. The company also organized various skill competitions and English competitions to facilitate their professional development.

Bosch Guangongwei always encourages employees to contribute to the public welfare. In recent years, Bosch often organized young employees to visit museums or memorials for patriotic education, as well as elderly people who live alone.

WND Guangongwei will continue supporting the work of foreign companies like Bosch in young talents training, said a WND official.

The former Wuxi New District, now known as Wuxi Xinwu district or Wuxi National Hi-tech district, was founded in 1992 and underwent administrative changes in 1995, 2002 and 2005.
